Kramata pricing guide details
Pricing Overview
Kramata pricing has two tiers, and neither is a subscription. The free edition costs $0 and includes every cleaning rule. Pro costs $29 one-time — listed on kramata.com as $29/lifetime — and adds one thing: batch processing, which runs a saved recipe across a whole folder of files. Both tiers are published in the pricing section of the kramata.com homepage, where Pro is marked Early Access.
The line between the tiers is the number of files per run, not the features. Every step — remove duplicates, fix dates, merge by key, pivot and unpivot, flag bad rows — works in the free edition, and recipes can be saved and re-run for free. You pay only when you want one click to clean a folder instead of one file.
Plan Comparison
| Free | Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $0 | $29 one-time |
| Cleaning rules | All | All |
| Save and re-run recipes | Yes | Yes |
| Files per run | One file | Whole folder, unlimited files |
| Batch output | — | Each file cleaned separately, or all merged into one |
| Export | CSV and Excel | CSV and Excel |
| Billing | Free | One-time purchase through Gumroad |
For most single users the free edition is the whole product. A person who cleans one monthly export can build the recipe, save it, and re-run it each month without paying. Pro earns its $29 when the files arrive in batches — thirty branch reports, a folder of supplier files — and each one needs the same cleanup.
Hidden Costs and Considerations
The app runs on your own PC, so there is no per-user cloud fee, no usage metering and no storage charge. Three points are worth checking before you buy:
- Early Access. Pro is marked Early Access in the pricing section. Expect the batch feature to keep changing while that label stays.
- Licence handling. The Pro licence key is sold through Gumroad. It is checked once with Gumroad when you activate it and then stored on your machine. Before a team shares one key, ask the vendor how many PCs a key covers.
- Platform. Kramata runs on Windows 10 and 11 (x64). A colleague on a Mac needs a different tool, which is a cost the price table does not show.
Cost Estimates by Team Size
- Solo user, one export a month: $0. The free edition cleans one file at a time with every rule.
- Solo user with a folder of files each month: $29, paid once, for Pro.
- Team of 5: only the people who run batches need Pro. If each of them needs their own licence, that is one $29 purchase per person, paid once rather than every year.
- Team of 20: the same arithmetic. Staff who clean one file at a time stay on the free edition.
Because nothing renews, the first-year cost is also the total cost, unless the vendor changes its terms for future major versions.
How Kramata Pricing Compares
Easy Data Transform, the closest alternative, is also sold as a one-time licence: its Core edition costs $99 and includes batch processing and command-line use, and it runs on Windows and Mac. KNIME Analytics Platform is free for personal use, with paid options for teams. OpenRefine is free and open source, and Power Query comes with Excel and Power BI.
At these prices, the choice between the tools rests on platform and workflow rather than cost: Kramata for a Windows user who wants plain-language recipes, Easy Data Transform for Mac support or a node-graph workflow, and KNIME when the work grows into a full analytics pipeline.
